I was born in 1975 in Littleton, Colorado to a family dedicated to
music and the arts. It is no surprise that I headed in the same
direction, following my own passion for fine art. I always knew it
would be more than a hobby even when my high school counselor
told me it was an unwise career choice. At that time and even now,
I don’t feel it is a choice as much as I believe it is what I am here to do.
I attended the Colorado Institute of Art as well as the Art Students
League of Denver. I have explored a number of mediums but have
come to have a particular affection for pastels. They allow for the gesture, stroke and texture that reflect the energy and movement of my subject. I have a passion for the outdoors and traveling to experience, explore and take part in other cultures and geography. I strive to capture the simple, everyday moments in which we all take part and in this, find what connects us all.
I have had a number of solo shows as well as taken part in group showings. I am currently on display at the Port Townsend Gallery in Port Townsend, Washington and Semantics Gallery in Edmonds, Washington. Not only do I enjoy working from my own traveling and outdoor experiences, but have done numerous commissions for others from their own ideas and photographs.
My husband and I now live on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington following a desire to be close to both the mountains and the water. I am inspired to walk in the wilderness and in our neighborhoods around the world to share the beauty I see.
